"Seriously...what's with the faces now? Did I say something bad?",you asked, nudging them both with an elbow.
Alfred facepalmed himself,"(name),your the detective. Deduce from this."
"Just because I'm a detective doesn't mean I know everything,Al." Arthur let out a heavy sigh and straightened himself,"Forget about that whole thing right now,(name). You too,Alfred."
A short silence followed.
Suddenly they just felt like returning to the previous subject,"Say...why were your working yourself up over something like Arsene,(name)?"
"Yeah, yeah! I definitely second that! I mean you can always let that stupid guy slip this one time!!!",Alfred said with a vigorous nod of his blonde head, only to be followed by Arthur's scoffing.
You stared at both of them with an incredulous look. They both looked back with smiles and grins at you,as if it was nothing but a joke. It clearly wasn't.
"What? We we're just saying our opinions.",they mused.
"Tag teaming against me...that's low."
Your pride as a detective wouldn't even allow you to decline such a thing. It was Arsene L.Kirkland you were talking about.
"I can't let that happen. That guy, who's just as good as Arsene Lupin when it comes to disguises.great at mimicking strangers' voices and mannerisms and the only one capable of deceiving the police and the Inspector into dancing to their mindless game...He and his partner are the only two who can think on par against me. Besides, those two bumbling thieves are also the only people on Earth who I would call my rivals."
A surprised look crossed their faces before dissolving into cocky grins.
"I'll bet that their quite the lucky guys to have someone like you to be thinking of them as your rivals,(name).",Arthur chuckled.
"Pretty sure those two would be absolutely happy right now if they heard that!",said Alfred, messing your hair up.
You swatted his hand away with a puzzled look,"Why would they be happy of all things?"
None of them answered immediately but,Alfred started waving his hand around in circles a few times before making a rose magically appear out of thin air. He handed the rose to you.
Arthur began fuming at Alfred,"Hey! I was just about to do that, you twit!"
He just laughed,"Try again next time,Arthur! For you,(name),I'll be seeing you tomorrow then!" And he jogged his way out there.
"ALFRED!",Arthur huffed. He turned to you,who was still confused, and gently took your hand and planted a kiss on it.
"I know a kiss won't be as good as that rose, but it's plenty for me."
With a quick bow,he ran after Alfred and bumped him with his shoulder and both disappeared around the next street's bend, out of your sight.
Had your hearing been keener, you would've heard their faint whispering of:
"Tonight,we both we'll see you tonight, our fair little detective."
You were left there standing,a rose in hand, dumbfounded. You stared at the rose.
Red and daring but prickly and dangerous as well. Reminds you of a certain thief and his accomplice you were meeting tonight, doesn't it?
